  • The ZDX is Acura’s first all-electric vehicle, available in a single or high-performance dual motor configuration.
  • Standard tech and connectivity features include Google built-in, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. An Acura smartphone app helps ZDX owners locate charging stations.
  • Starting MSRP will range between $64,500 and $74,500 for the 2024 ZDX.

2024 Acura ZDX: What’s New

The 2024 Acura ZDX follows the Honda Prologue as the fruits of a Honda and General Motors partnership that commenced in 2020.

Essentially, the ZDX is squaring up to face stalwarts like the Tesla Model Y and Ford Mustang Mach-E in a burgeoning midsize electric SUV segment, and it could end up being more popular than GM’s existing five or six-figure offerings that share similar Ultium EV architectures with the ZDX.

“The ZDX is an exciting moment for the Acura brand,” said Emile Korkor, Assistant Vice President of Acura National Sales. “It signals our transition to a zero-emissions future and demonstrates our commitment to Precision Crafted Performance in the electrified era.”

2024 Acura ZDX: Range & Powertrains

As Acura’s first all-electric vehicle, the ZDX is available in a single or higher-performance dual motor configuration. The A-Spec trim level offers either option, while the Type S will have a dual motor configuration.

ZDX A-Spec models with the rear-mounted single motor are rear-wheel drive and produce 340 horsepower. By contrast, dual motor A-Spec and Type S models are all-wheel drive.

Acura said it is targeting an EPA-estimated range of 325 miles for the A-Spec model with the single motor and rear-wheel drive and 315 miles for dual motor A-Spec models with all-wheel drive.

The 2024 Acura ZDX Type S, complete with its dual-motor and all-wheel drive specification, delivers nearly 500 horsepower. With the power increase comes a drop in the expected range, from over 300 miles in the A-Spec variants to 288 for the Type S.

2024 Acura ZDX Charging Packages

New Acura ZDX owners can select one of three charging packages included in the MSRP. Acura offers a combination of public charging credits, charging equipment, and installation credits to fit each buyer’s preferences.

Customers redeem the installation credits listed below through the Acura Home Electrification marketplace. Likewise, customers can access a network of local installers and expert Energy Advisors who can answer questions on installation, rebates, incentives, and other home electrification products.

CCS & NACS Compatible

ZDX is equipped with a Combined Charging System (CCS) port and is compatible with the North American Charging Standard (NACS) through a complimentary charging adaptor supplied by the Acura dealer. Every Acura ZDX can access Tesla Supercharger stations as well as EVgo and Electrify America, plus their roaming partners.

The 2024 ZDX accepts up to 190 kW of DC fast-charging to replenish 81 miles of range in about 10 minutes, according to Acura testing. Meanwhile, the Acura EV smartphone app will help ZDX owners locate available charging stations, pay for charging, and redeem credits.

Concept-Inspired Styling

The ZDX’s clean-sheet design was inspired by the Precision EV Concept that Acura featured in 2022 at Monterey Car Week.

Typical of Honda and Acura styling, the ZDX has no gimmicks like overly bulbous fenders, intersecting body lines, or exaggerated and angry front grille designs. Instead, it has the usual Jewel Eye LED headlights, high-contrast surfaces, and a 3D-embossed diamond pattern grille with an illuminated surround. Also of note is the distinctive chrome accent that rises from the base of the A-pillar and slopes elegantly towards the rear.

We commend Acura for the ZDX’s Double Apex Blue Pearl paint that initially debuted for the Precision EV Concept. Other colors include the Type S exclusive Tiger Eye Pearl (orange), also seen on the Integra Type S, MDX Type S, and TLX Type S.

Tech-Laden Cabin

The 2024 Acura ZDX has an 11-inch digital instrument cluster (Precision Cockpit Driver Information Cluster in Acura speak) and an 11.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with Google built-in and wireless smartphone connectivity, which includes Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

The standard Bang & Olufsen 3D Sound Control audio system, with selectable Beosonic audio moods and Acoustic Lens Technology, has 18 speakers (four in the headliner), 14 amplification channels, and a subwoofer.

AcuraWatch 360+ With Hands-Free Tech

Debuting in the 2024 Acura ZDX is AcuraWatch 360+ with hands-free driving assist technology. The system unlocks semi-autonomous driving capabilities on up to 400,000 miles of compatible roads like GM’s Super Cruise. The system includes an automatic parking assist system, a first for Acura, that enables hands-free parallel parking.

Furthermore, all ZDX variants come standard with the AcuraWatch package, now updated with rear cross-traffic braking and blind zone steering assist.

Other features include traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning.
